Duchess Sophie looked radiant after she paid a sweet tribute to her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, Edward when she stepped out in a pair of striking earrings during a public engagement on behalf of the Royal Family. On Wednesday (November 13) the 59-year-old visited the Castle Heritage Centre, also known as Castle Bude, in Cornwall.

She decided to wear the sentimental accessory to complete her elegant ensemble. Prince Edward gifted the sparklers to her on the day their engagement was announced over 25 years ago.

Back in January 1999, Duchess Sophie wore the diamond stud earrings she wore for the photocall. In an exclusive chat with Express.co.uk jewellery expert Maxwell Stone of Steven Stone Jewellers shared their whopping value.

“The Duchess of Edinburgh has beautifully honoured her husband, Prince Edward, by wearing the very diamond stud earrings that she first wore when the royal couple’s engagement was announced in 1999,” he said.

“Simple yet elegant, the 2-carat earrings feature a single, radiant round-cut diamond. A timeless symbol of love and commitment.”

They continued: “Diamond studs are often given to commemorate special milestones such as anniversaries, making them a fitting tribute to the enduring bond between partners.

“Sophie’s earrings are likely valued at around $25,000 (£20,000), a fitting reflection of their sentimental significance.”

These are perfectly complimented by her dazzling engagement ring, which if it hits the light may blind you after being a huge rock.

Their stunning abode is just a stone’s throw away from Windsor Castle and is close to Prince William and Princess Kate.

Back in 2023, it was announced that they would be moving from their 20-room apartment 1A, which was the former home of Princess Margaret.

The couple permanently lived there with their young children since 2014 but decided to make the move to the outskirts of Greater London. Adelaide Cottage is situated on the grounds of the castle.
