Doomsday Clock LIVE: Horror video sees nuclear blast hitting major city ahead of update

Scientists have created a horrifying video to illustrate the destruction a nuclear bomb would inflict if it dropped straight onto a heavily populated major city as a significant Doomsday Clock update looms.

Boffins from the University of Nicosia created the shocking simulation in the study ‘Nuclear Explosion Impact on Humans Indoors’.

The focus of the study – released in 2023 but once again pushed back into the public domain – is the Moderate Damage Zone, where radiation persists, but is survivable.

The chilling clip shows a giant bomb exploding in a city of skyscrapers, with a huge mushroom appearing soon after. It then shows a huge blast of energy quickly engulfing the city, destroying everything in its path.

It comes hours before the world finds out if it is one step closer to Armageddon, with the annual Doomsday Clock announcement being made later on Tuesday.
