The rapid-fire reloading of the UCLA women’s basketball team continued Monday with the commitment of former TCU guard Donovyn Hunter.
Announcing her decision on Instagram, Hunter posted a picture of herself smiling in a UCLA jersey.

She’s the third transfer to join the Bruins alongside former North Carolina point guard Elina Aarnisalo and former Arkansas guard Bonnie Deas. Coach Cori Close is expected to add at least two more players after previously saying she was targeting five additions in the transfer portal.
Last season at TCU, the 6-foot Hunter started every game and averaged 10.2 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists while making 33.7% of her 3-pointers for a team that advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament before losing to South Carolina.
A former teammate of UCLA forward Timea Gardiner at Oregon State during the 2023-24 season, Hunter transferred to TCU before the 2024-25 season. She will have one season of remaining eligibility.
Known for her excellent ballhandling, Hunter was among the Big 12 Conference leaders with a 1.81 assist-to-turnover ratio as a sophomore.
Now she’ll be reunited with Gardiner for their final college season.
