Donald Trump branded a 'narcissist' in blistering attack by Hollywood actor Sebastian Stan

US President Donald Trump has been branded a “narcissist” by Hollywood actor Sebastian Stan, following his turn playing the controversial politician in the film The Apprentice. Stan, 42, who earned an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of 45th and 47th president, admitted he has little doubt that Trump would have seen the movie.

The Apprentice follows Trump, 78, during his early business career in 1970s New York when he was mentored by lawyer Roy Cohn, played by Succession’s Jeremy Strong, who taught him to win at all costs. The film is considered particularly controversial as it features a scene with the future Commander-in-Chief rapes his then-wife Ivana. She accused him of rape when they were divorcing in 1990 but later distanced herself from this claim which Trump – who lashed out at the film upon its release – strongly denies.

The film was released prior to Trump’s election win, received a strong reaction from him on Truth Social. He lambasted: “A FAKE and CLASSLESS Movie written about me, called, The Apprentice (Do they even have the right to use that name without approval?), will hopefully bomb. It’s a cheap, defamatory, and politically disgusting hatchet job, put out right before the 2024 Presidential Election, to try and hurt the Greatest Political Movement in the History of our Country, ‘MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!’”

Trump added: “My former wife, Ivana, was a kind and wonderful person, and I had a great relationship with her until the day she died. The writer of this pile of garbage, Gabe Sherman, a lowlife and talentless hack, who has long been widely discredited, knew that, but chose to ignore it. So sad that HUMAN SCUM, like the people involved in this hopefully unsuccessful enterprise, are allowed to say and do whatever they want in order to hurt a Political Movement, which is far bigger than any of us. MAGA2024!”

The Apprentice flopped at the US box office, opening in 10th place with just $1.6 million in ticket sales. Now, in a new interview with Vanity Fair Stan revealed he’s convinced that even though Trump criticised the film he would have watched it. He said: “I would put money down he’s seen it 100 f**king times, of course, because he’s a narcissist.

“And I bet you there’s certain things he likes about it.” When asked to elaborate, he went on: “How he looked.”

It’s not the first time Trump has been blasted by a Hollywood actor. Just last week George Clooney made it crystal clear he couldn’t care less what Donald Trump thinks of him following the 72-year-old’s scathing remarks about the Ocean’s 11 star. Appearing on CBS Mornings to promote his upcoming Broadway debut, Good Night and Good Luck, the Oscar-winning actor and longtime activist was asked by host Gayle King about Trump previously branding him a “fake movie actor” on Truth Social.

Clooney blasted back with an ice-cold response, stating: “I don’t care. I’ve known Donald Trump for a long time. My job is not to please the President of the United States. My job is to try and tell the truth when I can and when I have the opportunity. I am well aware of the idea that people will not like that… people will criticise that. Elon Musk has weighed in [about me]. That is their right. It’s my right to say the other side.” The feud reignited last summer after the actor, 63, penned a headline-making op-ed in The New York Times urging Joe Biden to step aside as the Democratic nominee for the 2024 presidential election.
