Emma Raducanu became an instant household name in the UK after she won the US Open title in 2021. She is one of the only British players remaining in the Wimbledon draw, where she takes on world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka in the third round on Friday night.
However, it’s not just her on-court success that has been the talk of fans at SW19 this week. There is a keen interest in how the 22-year-old’s love life is going off the court.
Express Sport brings you all the latest on Raducanu’s boyfriend situation…
Does Emma Raducanu have a boyfriend?
The short answer is no. At least not one that has been made public. When she was younger, Raducanu was banned from having a boyfriend by her strict parents.
“My parents were very much against [boyfriends] as it interfered with training,” she told The Times. “When I was younger I wasn’t even allowed to hang out with my girl friends.
“A lot of the time I was very resentful [of the ban]. But it made me very confident and comfortable in my own company, which is also a big strength.”
Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz relationship
The relationship between Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz is platonic, despite fans on social media urging them together. Romance rumours sparked when the pair agreed to team up for the US Open mixed doubles, which takes place later this year.
Speculation grew stronger when Raducanu turned up unannounced to watch Alcaraz in action at Queen’s last month.
More fuel was added to the fire when Evian announced Alcaraz as their new ambassador. With Raducanu already on their books, Evian conducted an activation at Wimbledon ahead of the tournament where the pair practiced with one another using pink balls.
Emma Raducanu dating history
Raducanu was linked with Carlo Agostinelli, who is the son of billionaire Robert Agostinelli, in May 2023. The pair were often snapped together but a few months later Raducanu had blocked him on Instagram.
She has also been photographed with David Beckham’s son Brooklyn but she poured cold water over any talk of a romantic relationship.
She explained: “I mean, I think he’s, yeah, he’s really cool. His dad is, you know, someone that I think every athlete looks up to, especially every British athlete, you know what he’s kind of gone through with the media, with his career, with the pressure moments.”
