Movie lovers have been left devastated after viewing a ‘harrowing’ true story that will remain etched in their memories for months to come.
Film enthusiast Eccy Reviews, who shares must-watch movies and series on his social media channels, has discussed Land of Mine which is accessible on BFI Player.
You can alternatively stream it via Apple TV, Sky Store and Amazon Prime Video for £3.49.
He says most people have never watched the movie but claims it lingers in the minds of those who have due to its distressing storyline, especially when you learn its based on a true story.
The IMDb synopsis reads: “In post-World War II Denmark, a group of young German POWs are forced to clear a beach of thousands of land mines under the watch of a Danish Sergeant who slowly learns to appreciate their plight.”
Directed and written by Martin Zandvliet, the 2015 film features Roland Moller, Louis Hofmann and Joel Basman – and it has secured one Oscar along with 33 additional accolades and 27 nominations.
Eccy Reviews declared: “This is a film I feel like more people need to see and it is really worth the watch. I am giving this film a 4.5 stars [out of 5].”
