However, while the documentary is yet not confirmed to be taking place, royal experts believe that if Harry does go down this route, it will end any chances of reconciliation with his brother William.

At the moment, it is believed the brothers are not on speaking terms and haven’t been for some time, with the relationship becoming rocky when Harry quit royal life and moved to America in 2020.

Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, commentator Samara Gill said that if Harry makes a documentary about Princess Diana, it would be a “potential disaster”.

As reported by The Sun, she said: “Diana’s story is a very sensitive and coveted story to tell and I think Harry and Meghan will absolutely butcher it with their own lens.”

She added: “I really think that it could be a potential disaster because they will tell their side. I keep saying this, but it will probably be the final nail in the coffin for William.”

Another expert told Express.co.uk that William may see it as a “betrayal” by Harry if his brother makes the documentary.

Brand and culture expert Nick Ede said: “Harry and his brother made a pact to keep her (Princess Diana) memory sacred and to preserve it in the best possible way, so William may see this as a betrayal and a way of cashing in on the anniversary.”

The rumoured documentary is not 100% confirmed to be going ahead and is reportedly only in the discussion phase.

When contacted for comment, Prince Harry’s team said: “We don’t comment on speculation as it relates to ‘potentials’.”
