Deodorant stains can be such a nightmare and getting rid of them often feels impossible. Many people will attempt to wash and rewash their garments, or add some sort of bleaching chemical, if the clothing item is white, to try and get rid of the harsh stain. However, a lot of the time people try out some sort of cleaning method to get rid of the marks it comes out even worse.
Luckily, laundry experts, Persil, have revealed various methods to get rid of laundry stains, claiming that the techniques will leave your “clothes looking sleek once again”. The great thing about this particular method is that everything you need for it is most likely already in your kitchen, and with the latest weather forecasts predicting sunny spells, there’s no better time to try out this method.
Persil revealed that water and lemon juice is an effective technqiue to use if you want to get rid of deodorant stains, and the method is completely easy to use.
All you have to do is apply a mixture of equal parts water and lemon juice to the stain, leave the item of clothing in the sun for an hour, before then rinising it and washing it as normal in the washing machine.
Persil explained that “the natural bleaching effect of both the lemon juice and the sun is great for fading deodorant stains on light clothing”.
The Met Office forecasts a heatwave for certain areas across the nation, therefore it make sense to use the sun to your advantage and get rid of those deodorant stains as soon as possible.
For any tough yellow deodorant stains, you can also try a baking soda and water mixture.
Simply make a paste out of three bicarbonate of soda to one-part water and rub onto the stain. Allow the mixture to sit for a couple of hours then wash it in a hot water cycle.
And just like that, you can easily restore your favourite clothes, and wear them freely without worrying about whether they’ll get ruined again.
