A New Jersey delivery driver was horrifically crushed to death while trying to stop a thug from stealing his vehicle during a brazen daylight carjacking — with cops now looking for the goon.

Jhon Aponte Alarcon, 46, left his vehicle running while dropping off a package in Newark around 12:45 p.m. Saturday when the thief hopped in and took off, Essex County prosecutors said in a release.

Alarcon grabbed on to the vehicle to try to foil the thief as he sped down Bergen Avenue, they said.

The carjacker then smashed into a parked car, which flipped and crushed Alarcon.

The thief ran from the scene and is still on the loose, while Alarcon was rushed to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the prosecutor’s office said.

Anyone with information on the culprit is urged to call the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office tips line at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1-877-847-7432.
