Deion Sanders is not concerned about his team’s playbook being leaked — hours before they suffered a 29-3 loss at home to Texas Tech on October 3.

After having the past week off due to a bye, Sanders was finally able to address the elephant in the room on Tuesday.

“I’ve seen that, heard of that on the pro level as well as the collegiate level,” Sanders said. “That happens sometimes.”

“That happens sometimes… I think we scored on the first drive so I guess it didn’t work.”

The playbook was found by a group of Texas Tech fans and was posted on a message board at a Colorado team hotel in Broomfield.

The leaked playbook included Colorado’s opening script and notes for the offense.

For Sanders, the circumstance did not seem to bother him, as he believes it didn’t factor into the game.

“I think we scored on that first drive, so I guess it didn’t work,” Sanders said.

The fourth-year head coach went on to say that if he saw a playbook left behind, he would question the validity of it as he believes the opposing team would have planted it, and called it a “dummy script.”

“As the opposing coach, if somebody called us and said, ‘Hey, Utah left the play script of the first 20 plays, I wouldn’t believe that. Like, ain’t no way,’” Sanders said. “And then, you gotta match it up, and then they score on the first drive? Don’t make sense to me.”

He went on to say that he does not plan to investigate further into how a script of plays was leaked to the public.

“Why would we? It’s over. Game’s over,” Sanders said. “Why would we do that? We probably know a lot more than you think we do. But a whole playbook? Come on, man.”

For Colorado, the loss of their playbook came just before the Buffaloes suffered their third consecutive loss, as they are seeking their first victory in the Big 12 this season, with an overall record of 2-3.

Sanders’ team will have a tough task ahead of them on Saturday as they will face an undefeated Utah team that ranks No.11 in the country.
