When you’ve just come in from the rain or a muddy dog walk, the last thing you want is soggy shoes piling up by the door. Having somewhere neat to store them makes all the difference. I’ve been on the hunt for a shoe storage rack that will keep my hallway looking neat and tidy, without taking up too much space. And when I spotted the Homcom cabinet from Debenhams, I thought it could be just the thing.
Now reduced by 67%, from £228.99 to £74.99, it has a simple, modern design that fits neatly into small hallways or entryways, helping keep things looking clean and clutter-free. At 115cm tall, 60cm wide and 23.5cm deep, it’s slim enough for tight spaces but big enough to make a real difference.
It has three flip-up drawers, each with space for several pairs of shoes, and a flat-top shelf handy for storing keys or mail. Depending on the size of the shoes, the brand claims it can hold up to 12–18 pairs.
The white finish gives it a fresh, tidy look, while the smooth handles and flip-front drawers make it easy to pop open, slot in your shoes, and push closed again. Though it’s made from chipboard, rather than solid wood, shoppers have said it’s sturdy, and it comes with anti-tipping straps so it can be secured safely to a wall.
One customer review said: “Easy to fix with correct instructions. Strong shoe storage with enough space. Good size to fit any room.”
While another added: “Amazing! Fab quality and goes nicely in my hallway.”
Assembly is required, and as with most flat-pack furniture, a few shoppers mentioned it takes a bit of time to put together. Some shoppers have also pointed out that it isn’t suitable for anyone with big shoes. They wrote: “No good for big feet, my trainers are too big.”
