Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may no longer be friends with David and Victoria Beckham, but this was not the case just a few years ago. Both David and Victoria Beckham did not only go to the couple’s 2018 Windsor wedding, but they also reportedly went out of their way to try and make the couple’s life as easy as possible for them.
This included one very generous offer in 2018, which reportedly saw David and Victoria offer the couple full use of their Beverly Hills home. The offer was said to have been made when Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, were struggling with paparazzi.
As reported by The Mirror, Victoria also tried to help Meghan adapt to life in the UK’s public eye when the Duchess moved into Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.
As well as giving style and make-up advice, the fashion designer also offered Meghan one of her staff to give her facials and do her hair.
This was discovered when details of these gestures were leaked to newspapers, with Meghan believing it was Victoria that had gone to the press.
Both Victoria and David Beckham denied leaking such stories, however it caused tension between the two couples, and it is believed to be the reason why they are no longer friends.
Instead, David and Victoria are now much closer to Harry’s estranged brother and sister-in-law Prince William, 42, and Princess Kate, 43.
Last year, David attended a joint engagement with William at RAF Northolt to mark the end of the London Air Ambulance’s ‘Up Against Time’ appeal, which had raised £16m for two new helicopters.
William asked David to be part of the Omaze campaign for the appeal which helped raise £4 million for the charity’s cause.
Princess Kate has also shown signs of a budding friendship with Victoria Beckham, having stepped out wearing one of her designs earlier this week.
The Princess stepped out in an olive green suit priced at £1,340. The suit was not gifted and was Princess Kate’s “call” to wear it.
