Dave Portnoy is dunking on the WNBA again.

The Barstool Sports founder weighed in on the league’s commissioner Cathy Engelbert backing out of a national radio interview at the last minute last week, calling it “absolute coward move.”

Portnoy posted on X a day after Engelbert was supposed to appear on “The Dan Patrick Show” during the American Century Championship golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, Nev.

Engelbert claimed the league’s public relations team urged her to back out amid controversy over the treatment of Caitlin Clark.

“This is one of my biggest pet peeves in the world. When people like @CathyEngelbert say they can’t do something because their agent or PR said so. THEY WORK FOR YOU,” Portnoy wrote on X. “Absolute coward move. Anyway this is just yet another example of what 🤡 show the @wnbais. Worst run league in the world.”

The post was in response to a clip of Patrick explaining the cancellation on his show after he had promoted the interview all week.

Patrick explained that he thought this was going to be a fair interview for the WNBA as he tried to have his show cover the league more.

He said Engelbert and the league won’t be taken seriously until they are ready to answer the tough questions.

“Look, I know people get busy, people have agendas. It was her opportunity to finally say, ‘You can ask me the tough questions.’ I thought this was going to be a good thing for the WNBA,” Patrick said.

“Because people still want answers here. There’s so many people who have an opinion, agendas…and yes, would the questions be tough? Yes. Yes. And I’m sure that had something to do with it.”

Patrick added that his team was not notified of the cancellation until when it was supposed to begin.

They “waited almost two hours” for Engelbert, contacting the WNBA multiple times before getting a “feeble” response.
