Dramatic dashcam footage shows the moment when a heroic rideshare driver rescued a toddler wandering and alone on a busy Texas road.

Michelle Gallegos, a rideshare driver for zTrip through VIA Link, was driving south of Interstate 35 in San Antonio on March 10 when she spotted movement in the street — and realized it was a young boy, WJHG reported.

“Oh my god, there’s this little boy in the middle of the street,” Gallegos, who appeared to have a passenger in the backseat, can be heard saying in the footage.

Gallegos’ dashcam captured the heart-pounding moment the young boy was seen jumping onto the busy road — and showed the child pausing after Gallegos honked her horn.

The youngster then continued skipping along the road next to her vehicle, apparently unfazed.

“I had to open and close my eyes, like, ‘Is this real,” Gallegos recalled to WJHG of the stunning sight.

“He was not scared whatsoever. He was skipping, he was playing,” she said.

After the initial shock wore off, Gallegos quickly jumped into action and pulled over on South Zarzamora Street, grabbing the child from the busy roadway.

“Where do you live, baby? Here, sit right here,” Gallegos says in the dashcam footage before placing the young boy in the front seat of her vehicle and holding onto him.

“I was, like, let me see if I can get some sense of direction of where he came from so I can see if somebody’s out there looking for him,” Gallegos told the outlet.

Despite being physically unharmed, Gallegos said the toddler was barefoot, his face and hair were dirty, and he had a full diaper.

“It was soaked to the point where it was uncomfortable with him, and he tried to take it off,” she said.

Not knowing where the toddler lived, Gallegos pulled into the Seven Pines apartment homes nearby and called 911.

“I would hope that everyone in that situation would do the same thing,” the heroic driver said of rescuing the young boy. WJHG7

The police showed up less than 10 minutes later and the toddler’s guardians came out of the apartments after the police arrived.

“As soon as they arrived, I see the parents walking up very calmly,” Gallegos said.

The rideshare driver’s company called it “an extraordinary act of awareness and responsibility” but Gallegos said the dramatic moment came down to “instinct and training,” WJHG reported.

“I would hope that everyone in that situation would do the same thing,” the heroic driver said.

The Post has reached out to the San Antonio Police Department and zTrip for comment but did not immediately hear back Saturday.
