The Commanders’ brutal clock management gaffe at the end of overtime Sunday led to head coach Dan Quinn fielding a question about his job security the next day.

Quinn didn’t reveal much when asked about his status as Washington’s coach after the disastrous ending in a 27-27 tie against the Giants, when quarterback Jayden Daniels went down in the final seconds of overtime without any timeouts remaining, but he cited “honest” conversations with owner Josh Harris as part of the Commanders’ regular process.

“Josh [Harris] and I talk regularly before games, after games, after good games, after tough games,” Quinn told reporters, according to The Athletic. “That’s a normal process for us. And trust me, no one is pleased with this outcome and where we’re at. But the part that we do have, those hard conversations, we’re honest about where we’re at and what we need to fix and what we need to work on. I like having that communication with him.”

Quinn, though, didn’t mince words about the end-of-game sequence one day later.

He said he was “furious” and “pissed” and acknowledged that the Commanders have “a lot of s–t to clean up.”

The glaring mistake occurred at the end of overtime, when Washington had gotten the ball back after Cam Skattebo’s fumble, drove into Giants territory and had a second-and-8 from the 24-yard line.

But then Daniels went down, the Commanders couldn’t get back to the line of scrimmage in time and they were left dealing with the consequences of the brutal management — with Quinn, spiking his headset on the field and later putting his hands on his head, capturing the weight of the moment.

Magic Johnson, who owns a stake in the Commanders, said he was in “total disbelief.”

Kayvon Thibodeaux told The Post’s Ryan Dunleavy that he didn’t even expect them to run a play, since the Commanders were already in field-goal range.

Washington went to 1-3-1 on the season, while Quinn moved to 18-20-1 since taking over as coach in 2024.

The Commanders went 12-5 in his first season and went to the NFC Championship game, but that, by this point, has faded into the background.
