Cricketer provides update after scary injury forced Hundred match to be suspended | Cricket | Sport

Trent Rockets cricket star Adam Hose has delivered an update after being rushed to hospital during The Hundred clash with Southern Brave. The batsman dislocated his right ankle whilst fielding during the opening innings of the encounter.

Play was halted for 10 minutes whilst Hose received medical attention for the horrific injury which left his foot clearly pointing in an abnormal direction. Paramedics dashed to assist the 32-year-old as he lay on the ground in tremendous pain before a screen was erected around Hose’s body whilst he underwent treatment.

Whilst attempting to prevent Michael Bracewell’s fierce strike, Hose lost his footing and tumbled awkwardly to the turf.

The Isle of Wight-born player was subsequently stretched from the pitch and transported to hospital, with an ambulance called to the scene.

Hose has suggested there may be an extensive rehabilitation period ahead following his injury.

The ex-Northern Superchargers batsman expressed gratitude for the backing he had received during his difficult time.

“Quick message to say I appreciate each and everyone of you who have reached out,” Hose shared on Instagram.

“It’s going to be a long old ride, but I couldn’t ask for more amazing people around me. Big love.”

Hose composed his message alongside a photograph displaying his leg encased in a substantial plaster cast and elevated on a cushion, with Match of the Day broadcasting on television and Burnley manager Scott Parker visible on screen. The experienced cricketer’s county side Worcestershire had expressed their backing after the incident.

“Everyone at Worcestershire CCC sends their best wishes to Adam Hose, who has sustained a lower leg injury while playing for Trent Rockets,” they said.

“We wish him a speedy recovery and will provide further updates in due course.”

Trent Rockets managed to successfully pursue Southern Brave’s 140-run target with four deliveries remaining despite losing Hose’s services.

Tom Moores and Tom Banton contributed 55 and 49 runs respectively as the Midlands outfit reached their target after losing six wickets and now occupy second position in the standings.

The setback will prove devastating for Hose and his various teams for what remains of the summer campaign.

Last month, he achieved his first first-class double century when he accumulated 266 runs from 253 deliveries against Hampshire, striking 31 boundaries and seven maximums in the process.
