Cops collared a crazed San Bernardino County man Tuesday for allegedly pushing a woman out of a moving vehicle – and then trying to run her over.

According to the Victorville Police Department, Joseph Outlaw, 36, of Apple Valley, was riding as a passenger in the victim’s car Tuesday afternoon as she was driving on Seventh Street in Victorville, when the two got into a domestic dispute.

Police said Outlaw forced the victim out of the vehicle and onto the street. Then he moved into the driver’s seat and drove the car toward her, in an attempt to run her down and kill her, cops said.

The victim was able to move out of the way and was not hit, according to police.

Outlaw fled the area in the victim’s vehicle. 

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries, cops said. Her condition was unknown. 

A short time later, cops spotted the woman’s vehicle parked in the area of Zenda Street near Center Street.

Deputies and detectives rushed to the scene where they found Outlaw, who then ran from them on foot, police said.

After a short chase, Outlaw was apprehended with no further incident, according to authorities.

Outlaw was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto on charges of attempted murder, obstructing justice and reckless driving.

Outlaw was being held at High Desert Wednesday on bail of $1,025,000, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.  

A lawyer for Outlaw couldn’t immediately be reached.
