A couple stumbled upon a stunning McDonald’s location, but opinions remain split amongst viewers.
When thinking about McDonald’s, luxury probably isn’t the first thing that springs to mind. The renowned global chain is famous for its budget-friendly fast food, with typical restaurants featuring the classic red, white and yellow colour scheme alongside the famous golden arches.
Food enthusiasts usually visit McDonald’s for their guilty pleasure fix and likely don’t anticipate anything particularly upmarket. Logan and Audri, who travel full-time as a couple, discovered an exceptional McDonald’s branch during their Italian holiday.
They shared an Instagram video showcasing the restaurant’s stunning interior on the Piazza di Spagna in Roma. This particular venue differs dramatically from standard outlets, boasting a sophisticated, refined aesthetic with marble surfaces, bakery-style desserts and a classical white Roman sculpture featuring illuminated golden arches mounted on an interior wall.
The establishment also accommodates 394 diners and holds the distinction of being Italy’s first McDonald’s outlet. In their Instagram caption, the duo declared: “This has to be the most beautiful McDonald’s in the world..”
They explained this location was “designed to fully blend with Rome’s historic centre which is why it features art, marble columns, and a more elegant design than a normal McDonald’s.” According to the travel fans, it provides “a little piece of history, a more upscale experience, and pastries”.
The Piazza di Spagna serves as a public plaza in Rome’s heart, situated at the base of the Spanish Steps. Diners can sample exclusive menu items at this McDonald’s venue that cannot be found elsewhere, including tiramisu, chicken wings, tomato and mozzarella panzerotti and beer.
Logan and Audri’s Instagram reel has garnered thousands of views and likes along with more than 200 comments. Foodies enthusiasts were split over the upmarket fast food restaurant.
One stated: “I don’t care how fancy it is. I don’t go on vacation anywhere and eat McDonald’s.” Another remarked: “Still a McDonald’s though isn’t it.”
A third proclaimed: “Visiting Italy and having McDonald’s is really a crime.” However, there were numerous positive remarks about the restaurant as well.
A different user declared: “This is crazy!! Looks so good.” A second noted: “It’s true. McDonald’s in Italy is on another level.”
Someone else observed: “I haven’t been but I’ve seen it on TV and it’s just absolutely stunning and completely different.”
A food lover who has visited this McDonald’s branch added: “I’ve been in there. I can add it is incredible.”
McDonald’s differs in each nation and offers various food and beverage options. A further user mentioned that the Italian branches feature “barista-level espresso” and freshly squeezed orange juice, in Japan the presentation is “top notch” and provides the “best fast food fish sandwich” they have sampled and McDonald’s in France serves pastries that are “fresh and never frozen.”
