Cop shoots, kills pit bull attacking woman in Queens

An NYPD officer shot and killed a pit bull that attacked a woman in Queens late Monday, according to police.

Police responded to a call of a dangerous animal at 414 Beach 58th St. in Far Rockaway around 8:45 p.m. and found the dog mauling a 28-year-old woman.

One officer fired his gun and shot the dog, which later died from its wounds.

No people were struck by gunfire, cops said.

The 28-year-old woman suffered bite injuries to her arm and was rushed to a local hospital in stable condition. 

Multiple officers were also treated for minor injuries that do not appear to be from the dog.

It was not immediately clear who the dog belonged to and no arrests were made. Police said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
