A Massachusetts cop and her husband were arrested and charged Thursday with horrific rape allegations lodged by a child the couple took into their home — after she was mysteriously suspended last week.
Plymouth Police Officer Samantha Pelrine, 31, and her husband, Daniel Forand, 37, began abusing the 12-year-old victim soon after they moved in with the couple in 2019, court docs alleged.

Charging documents show Pelrine has been hit with charges including three felony counts of aggravated rape of a child with force and one count of aggravated statutory rape of a child.
“We are appalled and deeply disturbed by the allegations. We hold our officers to the highest of standards and expect them to uphold their sworn duty both on duty and off,” the Plymouth Police Department said in a statement.
“Our primary mission is to safeguard the public’s trust and uphold the law. We value human life, fairness, integrity, accountability and professionalism. The conduct alleged is in violation of our values and of our basic principals a police officers to serve and protect.”
Her husband, Forand, is facing 20 charges, including rape of a child, indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or over and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon
Pelrine was placed on leave earlier this month after the alleged victim came forward with the sexual abuse accusations, claiming in a handwritten affidavit that Pelrine and Forand “both sexually assaulted me until 2025 and physically assaulted me until 2026.”
She was ordered to surrender her guns, ammunition, gun license and Firearms Purchaser Identification Card.
The accuser wrote that the physical assault was only committed by Forand, and reported that they met Pelrine and her husband through their aunt, who attends the same church as the couple, according to court docs.
The alleged victim was raised by their grandmother and aunt until they were 12 years old, when the couple took custody of the child and brought them into their Plymouth home.

They became the accuser’s legal guardians about a year later, and the alleged sexual abuse began shortly after they were granted legal guardianship and continued through 2025.
The couple’s accuser moved out of their home in February, according to Boston.com.
Forand and Pelrine were taken into custody by state police at their home without incident, according to Boston 25.
A 2023 Facebook post by the Department celebrating National Women’s Month interviewed Pelrine, who joined the force in April of 2022, in which she said she grew up dreaming of becoming a police officer.
“I believe I picked the right career for my personality and what I wanted from a job because while the range of emotions from this job can vary drastically, I know that in some instances I’m truly able to make a difference in someone’s life,” she wrote.
The Post reached out to Pelrine’s attorney Joseph Krowski but did not immediately hear back. Information about Forand’s attorney was not immediately available.
The couple is set to be arraigned in Plymouth District Court.
