Common air fryer mistake that can send bills soaring

Anyone who owns an air fryer is being warned about a simple error that could send energy bills soaring during these already tough times. With families across the UK struggling financially and energy costs remaining high, many are looking for methods to reduce the amount that they are spending.

An air fryer specialist has now revealed a crucial step people frequently overlook with this beloved kitchen appliance. It’s an oversight that’s not only expensive for the wallet but potentially harmful to your wellbeing. Forgetting to clean your air fryer properly can result in skyrocketing energy bills and expensive repairs for damaged components, creating problems for households relying on the device for quick evening meals.

Nevertheless, keeping your air fryer operating at maximum efficiency doesn’t demand endless effort or costly cleaning products.

It turns out there’s a remarkably straightforward cleaning routine to follow that ensures your machine stays spotless whilst keeping costs down, reports the Daily Record.

To help people, the experts at Philips — the manufacturer that created the original air fryer — took to TikTok, providing a simple guide using ordinary household products.

Philips’ air fryer expert and chef, Martin Senders, advised: “A dirty air fryer has to work harder, which means you could be using 10-30% more electricity and driving up your bills.”

He continued: “Ideally, you should clean it after every use, though that’s not always the case for many of us with families to care for. While social media is full of easy and helpful cleaning hacks, they often involve expensive products and take too much time out of our busy schedules.”

“You don’t need to splash the cash on fancy cleaning products to extend the life of your air fryer, as a handful of items you already have in your kitchen can help you avoid any pesky extra costs and keep your food tasting delicious for every bite.”
