MINNESOTA VIKINGS (-6.5) over Indianapolis Colts

Things are starting to unravel in Indianapolis, and a trip to Minnesota to face the undefeated Vikings is hardly the ideal opportunity to turn things around.

The Colts couldn’t even beat the previously winless Titans at home Sunday, blowing a 13-point halftime lead in an embarrassing 26-20 defeat that caused the franchise to make some drastic moves.

The loss proved to be the final straw for general manager Chris Ballard, who was fired Monday after Indianapolis dropped to 2-4.

The Colts’ offense has also been trending in the wrong direction, with injuries taking a toll on their receiving corps and Daniel Jones coming off a miserable performance in which he was sacked six times and committed three turnovers.

The Vikings, meanwhile, are coming off a bye week and should be well-rested for this matchup.

Quarterback Kyler Murray looked particularly sharp in his last outing after a slow-ish start to his career in Minnesota, completing 24 of 30 passes for 229 yards and a touchdown while adding 51 yards on the ground in a 23-13 win over the Saints.

Colts pass protection ace Sauce Gardner is also expected to miss time with a calf strain, which is good news for Murray and Justin Jefferson, who has dealt with an ankle sprain over the past few weeks and surely enjoyed his week off.

And the Vikings’ defense has been among the NFL’s best, making life miserable for opposing quarterbacks.

Betting on the NFL?

With Minnesota rested and beginning to find its rhythm offensively, this looks like a particularly difficult spot for a Colts team that appears to be heading in the opposite direction.

Look for the Vikings to stay undefeated with ease Sunday.
