Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has revealed that Cole Palmer won’t return from injury until after the November international break.
“I was wrong [about Palmer]. Unfortunately he needs to be out for six more weeks,” he said on Friday. “We’re doing our best to protect Cole as much as possible.
“The most crucial thing is that when he returns, he’s in top form. “Our medical team aren’t miracle workers. We’re hoping six weeks will suffice.
“We’ll have to take it one step at a time. But rest assured, he’ll be alright.”
Maresca then went on to give additional updates on his squad’s fitness.
Levi [Colwill] and Liam [Delap] are still out,” he added. “Unfortunately Benoit [Badiashile] will be out until December, a muscle problem. We are going to wait for him.
“Moi [Caicedo], Enzo [Fernandez] and [Joao] Pedro did not take part in the session yesterday. We will see if they can train today. Reece is okay, he is fully fit.”
