Coldplay fans given advice to avoid ticket scams this summer

Coldplay are just a matter of weeks away from finally hitting stages around the country, and while fans are becoming more excited by the day, the risk of being duped by scammers is increasing. Leading resale website StubHub recently released some data on people losing out on their hard-earned cash after being hoodwinked by sly online thieves.

After tickets sold out for Coldplay’s upcoming tour, fans would no doubt be looking to find resale tickets elsewhere. While plenty will use such online retailers as StubHub, viagogo and more, the data says otherwise. The online retailer claims almost a third (32 percent) of music fans would “resort to using social media platforms to find last minute tickets” for their favourite artists.

That’s not all, either. Of those fans who looked for resale tickets outside of the more reputable channels, a quarter (25 percent) of them who were scammed admitted they “didn’t check the seller’s identity before transferring them the money”.

This is a prime example of fans failing to understand the risk of losing their money in attempts to see their favourite music acts.

What’s more, 21 percent of Gen Z who were surveyed revealed they would “rather risk” getting tickets online “in a desperate bid to see their favourite act” over missing out entirely.

Speaking out about this phenomenon, Bob Kupbens, CEO of StubHub International told music fans across the UK: “We’re set for an outstanding line-up of live music this summer, but we know that a dangerous shadow trend comes with that: the rise of fake tickets on social media.

“If you’re looking for a last minute gig ticket this summer, there are safe and secure spaces where you can buy with confidence. Regulated resale platforms like StubHub UK exist for this reason – to keep you protected from fraud when buying resale tickets, with money-back guarantees in case anything goes wrong.”

“At StubHub UK, we are completely focused on fan protection and that’s why fans trust us time and again for tickets to unforgettable shows,” he added.

Thankfully, there are plenty of ways fans can get legitimate tickets to Coldplay’s upcoming gigs this year without losing their money – and, more importantly, protecting their investment.

Here’s the resale website breakdown.

Coldplay tickets are readily available from a number of online retailers right now.

The websites with the most stock available are the resale retailers. This includes the aforementioned StubHub, viagogo, Vivid Seats and more.

Each of these websites have their own safety guarantees, promising customers to keep their best interests at heart.

And some of these websites have tickets available for around £200 each, as well.

Here’s the links fans need now:

VIAGOGO – Buy Coldplay resale tickets here.

VIVID SEATS – Buy Coldplay resale tickets here.

STUBHUB – Buy Coldplay resale tickets here.

Otherwise, there are also official tickets still available right now.

Coldplay tickets were originally released last year, with the likes of Ticketmaster and Live Nation selling out in no time at all.

Thankfully, official tickets can still be purchased right now from Seat Unique, a VIP and hospitality ticket vendor.

This website specialises in giving fans not only a powerful concert experience, but also added bonuses such as complimentary food, drink, early access, goodie bags, after-parties, and plenty more.
