A cleaning and lifestyle influencer has shared her top tips on how to make cleaning less time consuming with three genius hacks.
Cleaning your home can seem like and endless task. No matter how many hours you spend on cleaning, it always feels like it becomes dirty and messy again within minutes.
TikTok creator Carolina Mccauley is a well-known lifestyle creator with over 2.9 million followers on the app who loves learning cleaning tricks and hacks from the cleaning guru.
“How to clean smarter not harder,” Caroline said at the start of one video before getting into her top three tips on how to make cleaning less time consuming.
Check out her top cleaning tips below…
1. Stop bins from smelling
The first thing she did was to use a toilet gel deodoriser on the inside of the lid of her bin in order to prevent it smelling bad. She put four around the lid to ‘keep the bins smelling fresh’.
2. Use foil to prevent tarnishing cutlery
For tarnishing on cutlery, add foil to your dishwasher,” she said, showing how she scrunched up some foil before putting it in the cutlery basket in her dishwasher.
“Cutlery will be sparkling,” she said, showing her now shining cutlery.
3. Use power cleaner for quicker results
The next clip showed Carolina getting ready to clean her shower. However, to make the tedious work go by faster, she told people to use a power scrubber.
Get your cleaning done faster with a power scrubber,” she said. “The job will be done in half the time.”
However, not everyone agreed that Carolina’s tips were as good as she claimed. as they took to the comments to discuss their own hacks.
“No to the toilet deodorant,” one person said, to which a second person shared: “Yeah I tried it and stuff in the bin ended up sticking to it and was annoying to clean off.”
“omg don’t use the toilet things in ur bin they’ll go mouldy without the water washing them away,” a third person said.
People also asked if it was safe to put aluminium foil in the dishwasher, to which one person said: “A lot of appliance techs have said the tin foil does infact nothing.”
