When going on holiday, petrolheads love little more than to discover high-end models being used as daily drivers in a wide range of affluent destinations.
However, whilst supercars will never be as common as family staples like the Ford Fiesta and Toyota Prius, the performance vehicle retailer Exotic Car List shared a list of five major cities that offer the most interesting models.
In particular, the company claimed that London is the biggest hotspot for exotic supercars, offering models from a wide variety of acclaimed brands.
They explained: “Year after year, London finds its way to the top of the ranks earning the title of Supercar Capital of the World.
“Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Pagani lead the way in supercars that are most frequently spotted and owned in this bustling urban destination.”
Despite the UK’s capital having a number of measures that makes motoring difficult, such as the congestion charge and the ultra-low emission zone (ULEZ), London is said to have more supercars than any other city in the world.
According to the company, one of the main reasons why so many supercars exist in the city is due to the high income many residents have, with the average Londoner receiving £47,455 during 2024 – around £10,000 more than the typical figure across the UK.
Nevertheless, with the average wages, drivers would still need to save up for two years for a new Lotus Emira or more than five years to get behind the wheel of a Ferrari 296 GTB.
Exotic Car List suggested that the most popular choices for supercars in London come from Italian manufacturers, including models by Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Pagani.
Nevertheless, British-made choices are also particularly popular among drivers in the capital, with Aston Martin being noted as the most common UK supercar brand in the city.
Built around two hours away from the capital in Gaydon, Warwickshire, models made by the brand are synonymous worldwide for being used by James Bond.
Whilst London is considered to have more supercars than any other city in the world, Exotic Car List highlighted that there are many other cities where visitors will see performance cars.
Despite being more synonymous with Ladas than Lamborghinis, the company stated that Moscow has a particularly significant number of supercars, thanks in part to its population of 12.5 million.
Los Angeles also ranked high for exotic models, with models by Lamborghini, Ferrari and Porsche said to be the most common as residents try to live up to the city’s reputation of being home to the rich and famous.
