SAN FRANCISCO — Normally used to starring on football fields, Christian McCaffrey wowed in a very different kind of arena on Saturday — a fashion show.
The 49ers running back and his wife, Olivia Culpo, participated in Abercrombie’s showcase of some of its apparel during a Super Bowl week spectacle, and the two were hardly the only celebrities who showed off their stuff on a makeshift runway.
CeeDee Lamb, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Tee Higgins, Cooper DeJean and several others donned stylish clothes and walked as well.
The audience for the event was star-studded — NFL commissioner Roger Goodell had a front-row seat.
DeAndre Hopkins, Jaxson Dart, Jordan Love and Trevor Lawrence were all there too.
McCaffrey told The California Post at the event that just recently fashion became a significant part of his life.

“It took me a little bit to really appreciate fashion and what it means,” said McCaffrey, who donned a mostly denim ensemble for the Abercrombie show.
“In the last few years, I’ve definitely learned to appreciate fashion and style in so many different ways. It’s one of the best forms of self expression without ever having to say anything. So I appreciate being able to put together good looks that match the energy you’re in.”
He went on to say Culpo, a former Miss Universe, played a big part in his mindset change.
“Huge role,” he said. “She’s taught me so much. Really made me enjoy it and understand fashion at a level that I never knew.”
Higgins echoed McCaffrey’s statements, telling The Post his style, too, recently evolved from sweatpants and t-shirts to elaborate ‘fits.
“Never did I think I was going to walk in a fashion show,” the Bengals wide receiver said. “A few years ago, some of my family was like, ‘Man, you should try it.’ And we’re here now.”
All of the guys spent some time chatting with one another at the event, and while Higgins said he’d probably give the nod to Lamb as the NFL’s most stylish, McCaffrey said he anticipated delving much further into the fashion world in the foreseeable future.
“It’s so much fun,” he said. “It’s definitely something I’m extremely interested in.”
