After disappearing from supermarket shelves more than 11 years ago, there are now rumours that White Chocolate Maltesers will return. Launched in the UK back in 2003, the product was discontinued in 2014 with Mars Wrigley saying that they were no longer going to sell it in the UK due to low sales. However, many chocolate fans weren’t pleased that the product was no longer available and many are still craving the sweet treatall these years later.
One person wrote on X last July: “Had a dream last night that white chocolate maltesers were back and I bought a whole crate of them.”
Another person said earlier this year: “Bring back white chocolate maltesers.”
Now, there are rumours that the White Chocolate Maltesers could be making a comeback.
One person said on X: “White chocolate Maltesers are back!”
Snack review account, johns_snackreviews posted a week ago telling his followers: “White Maltesers are BACK!!!!
Coming soon to the UK! After being discontinued from 2014, they’re back after huge public demand.
“Expected mid June – start of July release. NB: dates might not be 100% accurate. Unsure which shop will have them first, but they’ll be in all shops eventually.”
TikTok user and food reviewer, minstrelmunches, also said the White Maltesers are returning and said in a video: They are coming back. These are expected to be released in middle of June/start of July.”
Someone commented: “Yes they are better than the regular malteasers!! I’ve not recovered from them being discontinued.”
A Mars Wrigley UK spokesperson said: “We’re always listening to the fans of our chocolate and fruity treats, which is why we’re constantly innovating our ranges.
“Whilst White Chocolate Maltesers aren’t currently on shelves, we’re pleased to offer many delicious alternatives such as M&M’s, and of course, our original Maltesers.
“We’ve always got an ear to the ground and recognise the enduring love for old favourites, so stay tuned for some epic comebacks that could be happening soon… Watch this space!”
