Children of Olympian Bode Miller, wife Morgan recovering from carbon monoxide poisoning

Olympic skiing champion Bode Miller and his wife Morgan know the pain of losing a child all too well. And earlier this month, they narrowly avoided another heart-wrenching tragedy.

Three of the couple’s children were hospitalized two weeks ago with carbon monoxide poisoning, Morgan Miller shared in an Instagram post on Friday, and had to be put on “high flow oxygen for over four hours.”

The incident occurred when a broken hot tub was being replaced at the Millers’ home. Twin sons Asher and Axel, 3, and daughter Scarlet, 19 months, were standing on their front step when a lack of air flow in the driveway caused them to inhale too much carbon monoxide, the former pro volleyball player explained in the caption to her Instagram video.

Miller called it a “terrifying experience,” but she noted that all three children are doing much better now.

Last December, son Asher had to be taken to the hospital after suffering a febrile seizure.

And a little more than five years ago, the Millers’ 19-month-old daughter Emeline drowned in a neighbor’s pool.

Bode and Morgan Miller play with their son Easton, then just five months old, at the 2019 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California.
