The Chiefs are still going with their guy at kicker.

Despite Harrison Butker’s recent woes — and Kansas City’s controversial signing of Justin Tucker — special teams coordinator Dave Toub insisted that the team is going forward with the 31-year-old kicker.

“We’re trying to improve and get Butker right,” Toub told reporters, according to ESPN. “That’s what this whole thing is about. He’s our kicker. He went 10-for-10 yesterday with Tucker standing right there.

“It was a windy day. It was 28 miles an hour gusts yesterday. That’s a good thing. We’re going to keep working it.”

Butker has been off to a rough start for the Chiefs, missing five of 16 field goal attempts so far, including two in Kansas City’s 20-3 loss to the Seahawks on Sunday.

The three-time Super Bowl champion is expected to be in uniform for the Chiefs’ Week 8 matchup against the Broncos, which will determine who will take first place in the AFC West.

“[My] warmup wasn’t great,” Butker said following Sunday’s game. “It’s just something you’ve got to roll with and try to fix in a game and do your best. The 58-yarder was just short. The 45-yarder at the end, you’ve just got to make it. [I] just pushed it [wide right].

“I’m at my best when I’m smooth and not over swinging. I don’t think power has been an issue. I think when I miss, it’s because I’m swinging too hard.”

Toub’s comments come one day after Kansas City signed Tucker, who was suspended by the NFL last season due to allegations of sexual misconduct, to its practice squad.

Tucker, 36, was then released by the Ravens after a number massage therapists alleged sexual harassment by the kicker.

“Listen, I’m not going to get into all that,” coach Andy Reid told reporters of Tucker’s past. “But, to bring him in here, I did some homework.

“I’m not going to get into all that, but I mean, he’s here and he’s on the practice squad. So we roll with it.”
