Chelsea captain Reece James has spoken of his determination to overcome his latest injury after confirming he has suffered another setback.
The 24-year-old made his comeback in October from a length period out after undergoing hamstring surgery during the second half of the 2023-24 campaign.
James started the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool and stayed in Enzo Maresca’s team for the next two games before dropping to the bench against Arsenal. He came on for eight minutes in the 1-1 draw with the Gunners at Stamford Bridge.
But during his press conference on Thursday, Chelsea boss Maresca confirmed James had been ruled out with another hamstring problem and would miss the trip to Leicester on Saturday.
Now James has opened up about his emotions as he faces another spell on the sidelines – and hinted he could be out for longer than first thought.
“Hello all, I hope and wish you’re all well,” James posted on his Instagram Story, which had a blue background. “This message is to the people that understand & have respect for what I’m going through…”
