You might know Charlotte Tilbury for its Pillow Talk collection and Magic Cream moisturiser, but there’s another product in the makeup brand’s collection that has been described as the “best concealer for over 50s.” The Magic Vanish concealer, which retails for £28, is designed as an under-eye brightening and colour-correcting treatment.
The product has a peachy-orange undertone, which the brand says neutralises blue and black discolouration common on the skin beneath the eye. It can be worn on its own or applied before your usual concealer. The best way to apply is by gently patting a fine layer around the eye area.
The Liverpool Echo reports that shoppers have praised its “smooth” finish and its ability to make eyes look “instantly more awake.”
The Magic Vanish is available in four shades: fair, medium, tan, and deep. It’s also stocked at Cult Beauty and ASOS in all four shades.
On Charlotte Tilbury’s website, the Magic Vanish boasts a 4.3 out of a possible five-star rating based on customer reviews. One shopper said: “As someone who constantly battles dark circles, I’ve tried so many correctors-but this one truly lives up to the hype.
“The texture is smooth and creamy without being heavy, and it blends effortlessly into the skin. I use it right before my concealer, and the difference is instantly noticeable-my under eyes look brighter, fresher, and more awake.”
Someone else commented: “Best concealer for over 50s! Onto my second magic vanish concealer. It’s the best concealer I’ve used. I’m in my early 50s and was struggling to find a concealer that covered but didn’t sit in my fine lines.”
Another shopper added: “This is actually incredible. I’ve only used it twice, and not to leave the house properly yet, but as soon as I used a tiny amount just on the tip of my finger under my eye, my bags were gone! It also sits perfectly under concealer. Definitely worth the money.”
However, a more critical review said: “I was very excited to try this on formula is creamy, great for dry skin, but does not cover dark circles.”
Alternatively, NARS has a similar product, the Light Reflecting Eye Brightener, which is also priced at £28. However, the NARS product comes in a slightly wider range of shades.
For those favouring a liquid formula, the KOSAS Revealer Extra Bright Serum Powered Colour Corrector, £26, could be worth considering.
