Footage reveals queues of shoppers frantically rushing to purchase wooden toys during an Aldi Christmas event.
The budget retailer’s yearly wooden toy event has established itself as a customer favourite in recent years, providing traditional-style play sets ahead of the festive season.
Clips circulated on social media demonstrate customers queuing from as early as 8am, with certain Aldi branches implementing ticket systems and imposing two-item restrictions on the most sought-after products.
Mums and dads have characterised scenes as “carnage” in the aisles as footage captures people desperately grabbing the toys before stock ran out and filling their trolleys.
The promotion includes a Wooden Aldi Supermarket, Cuthbert Cake Set, Wooden Country Kitchen, a Mechanic’s Car, a Double Air Fryer, and a Spa Station.
Costs begin at merely £3.49, with bigger play sets such as the Wooden Slide and Soft Play Set priced at £49.99.
One user, @Merrys_moments, reveals she succeeded in obtaining everything she had desired this year despite the mayhem and queues.
She said: “I have just done the Aldi wooden toy event and credit to them they have actually got loads of stock this year. Lots of options. And whilst it is chaos in there, there was definitely not a fear that you were going to miss out.”
The mother added that she spent £37.65 on five toys.
