It’s been a meteoric rise to stardom for Carlos Alcaraz, who has established himself as one of the biggest names in sport. His latest Grand Slam triumph at the US Open underlined his status as tennis’ main man right now, defeating familiar foe Jannik Sinner and taking the world No.1 spot too.
Alcaraz also banked a record cash prize for his exploits in New York, pocketing a whopping $5million (£3.7million)… well, sort of. The Spanish ace lost over £1m of the prize to the taxman, but even still, it’s not like Alcaraz is struggling financially.
His ranking in tennis’ all-time earners list demonstrates that, with Alcaraz’s US Open win taking him above the $50m mark. He joins a select group of players to have breached that total, including Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.
Alcaraz is one of six (only three of them active) to have achieved the milestone, with Alexander Zverev the player directly above him in the rankings. While the German is still active on the ATP Tour, it’s hard to imagine it will take Alcaraz long to make up the current $1m gap between himself and Zverev.
As such, Alcaraz will now have Andy Murray in his sights, with the Brit ranked fourth in the list of all-time earners on $64m. It’s worth noting that the increase in prize money has allowed Alcaraz to shoot up the rankings at breakneck speed, however, with six Slam titles, it’s hard to argue against his inclusion in the list.
It’s certainly been boosted by a stunning 2025 for Alcaraz, who right now boasts the eighth-highest return for a single season in ATP history. Heading into the Asian swing of the season, Alcaraz has won over $15m (£11m) in prize money.
But it’s off the court where Alcaraz has been raising eyebrows in recent days, after claims he is dating Brooks Nader. The model’s sister appeared to confirm the fling, telling E! News: “The rumours are true. Dating is such a loose term. But I do know he’s the man of the hour.”
However, contrasting reports have suggested that isn’t the case, with reports from Spain claiming the two aren’t officially linked. Instead, it’s been suggested by outlet Page Six that Nader might’ve been seeing Alcaraz’s biggest rival, Sinner, instead.
