'Carefree' Princess Kate rises above Scobie drama at 'relaxed' hospital visit

Kate, the Princess of Wales appeared “carefree” during her latest royal engagement in London, a body language expert has claimed. Today, December 5, Princess Kate stepped out on a solo visit to Evelina London Children’s Hospital to mark the opening of their brand-new Children’s Day Surgery Unit.

The visit comes just days after the Royal Family were hit with new damaging claims featured in author Omid Scobie’s new book Endgame.

In the Dutch version of the book, which have been removed from sale, two members of the Royal Family were named as the “racist royals” previously alleged to have made comments on the colour of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son Prince Archie’s skin.

Express.co.uk has chosen to not reveal the two royals named in Endgame.

Amid the ongoing scandal, the Princess of Wales chose to rise above the drama to attend the engagement in London.

Speaking about the Princess of Wales’s latest visit, body language expert Judi James told Express.co.uk: “Kate quite simply focuses on the people she is meeting here, especially the children, and allows her body language to be dictated by them.

“She is fully immersive with the small children, using eye contact, animated gesticulation and a contagious smile that looks prompted by them and which is delivered for them exclusively.

“Children can spot a phoney a mile off and here they look genuinely engrossed in the conversation Kate is prompting with them.”

Discussing the visit at hand, she added: “This is not a grinning performance of overkill signals of resilience and ‘carefree, relaxed happiness’ that has been created specifically for the cameras but it is just Kate doing her job and putting the people she is visiting look and feel like the most important factor in her life right now.”

Continuing to praise Kate, who has often been deemed one of the most popular royals, Ms James added: “Kate has the kind of charisma that makes the people she meets feel important and happy because she focuses on them rather than appearing using a more celebrity-based charisma, which is more about looking special and elite.”

Comparing her to the late Queen Elizabeth II and the late Princess Diana, she added: “This body language of ‘sensation’ that makes others feel better is a trait that royals like herself, the late Queen and Diana shared.

“It has provided Kate with the perfect role here in the face of all the dramas and criticisms from the current book.”

Known for her recent love of trouser suits, Princess Kate – who is Patron of Evelina London – wore a blue trouser suit by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen and some navy high heels.

While at the hospital, Princess Kate was given a tour of the new unit following the journey a child takes on the day of their surgery.

It will be used to transform care for children and young people needing surgery at the centre, as well as providing them with everything they need in one place.

When it was time for the big moment, Kate beamed as she was handed a pair of scissors to cut the ribbon to officially open the new unit.
