Cam Jordan is returning to New Orleans.

The star defensive end and the Saints announced a new one-year contract on Tuesday.

The new deal brings Jordan, a first-round pick out of California in the 2011 draft, back for his 16th season with the franchise.

In a video posted to social media, Jordan wrote that “he’s back” for “one final season.”

Jordan, 36, isn’t ruling out that 2026 could be the last year we see him in the NFL.

“We’re gonna take everything the way we want to. Year 16, how many more years you want me to play?” Jordan said at a press conference on Tuesday. “I definitely am going to take to this like every game is my last to ever play.

“I’ma treat it like it’s [my] final season with intention because I believe between God and my wife that’s the only two people that can get me back through.”

In March, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Jordan was “open to leaving New Orleans” with him and the team at a stalemate in their contract negotiations.

Instead, the two sides found their way back to each other, giving Jordan one last run with the only franchise he has ever known.

“In any negotiations, there are always going to be things you want and can get through,” Jordan said. “At the end of the day, it was more about what my family felt. I kept deferring to not only my foundation, but my wife about, ‘It’s good to come back, right? We’re not gonna have any? Great.’ As long as we’re clear there. Contract-wise, there were just a couple bumps that we cleared up recently and then it sort of cleared the path.”

Jordan has been one of the best players in franchise history, making eight Pro Bowls and recording 132 sacks, which is the most in Saints history.

He’s been the model of consistency throughout his NFL career, playing in at least 16 games in all 15 seasons since coming into the league.

Even at his age, Jordan didn’t appear to lose a step in 2025.

He finished the season with 47 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, two passes defended, and two forced fumbles while playing in all 17 games.
