Call of Duty Black Ops 7 release date 'leaked' but it's bad news for Nintendo Switch 2

The Call of Duty Black Ops 7 release date appears to have been leaked ahead of next week’s Gamescom reveal.

According to industry insider and reputable leaker Billbil-kun, Black Ops 7 will come to PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC on November 14.

The release date is expected to be announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19. As part of the live broadcast, Activision will also reveal gameplay footage from the upcoming Call of Duty sequel.

Unfortunately, however, it’s not all good news, especially if you were hoping for a Nintendo Switch 2 port.

Indeed, the report suggests that Call of Duty Black Ops 7 won’t be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in November.

It’s possible the game will come to Switch 2 at a later date, although nothing has been confirmed so far.

Microsoft signed an agreement to bring the Call of Duty games to Nintendo consoles during its acquisition of Activision back in 2023.

With this in mind, fans can expect a Call of Duty game to come to the Nintendo Switch 2 sooner rather than later, hopefully beginning with Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty Warzone.

Developed by Raven Software and Treyarch, Black Ops 7 is set 40 years after last year’s Black Ops 6.

The futuristic setting should result in some interesting new weapons and items to play around with in single-player and multiplayer.

Activision explains more: “The year is 2035 and the world is on the brink of chaos, ravaged by violent conflict and psychological warfare following the events of Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6.

“Wielding cutting-edge technology, David Mason and his team must fight back against a manipulative enemy who weaponises fear above all else.”

With the Battlefield 6 beta setting records and receiving positive feedback, it feels like a big year for the Call of Duty franchise.

Fans can check out the Battlefield 6 open beta this weekend on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC to see what all the fuss is about.
