With gas prices soaring, casino gas stations are offering drivers a little relief — because nothing says “saving money” like cheaper fuel right next to slot machines.
The California Post called casinos in the state to find out what commuters might be eligible for if they enrolled in their rewards programs. Of those that responded, three offer deals that may help drivers, as the current state average for gas stands at nearly $6 — the highest in the country.
Several California casinos offer rewards programs that allow players to redeem points for gas or receive fuel discounts.
One option is Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California, a premier AAA Four Diamond–rated property owned by the Pechanga Band of Indians.
They do not offer any direct discount, but say members can earn club dollars by using their player card and accumulating certain amounts of credit.
Players with the card earn a small percentage of what they spend. They match five percent of all purchases except alcohol and tobacco. One club dollar is worth one U.S. dollar.
Another option is Soboba Casino Resort, where they go a step beyond just points. If customers use their gas station, located at 2214 Lake Park Drive at Roadrunner Express, they can get 5 cents off per gallon if members are at the “Earth” level for every 100 gallons. If members are at the higher “Fire” level, it applies to up to 150 gallons.
They encourage members to open a card, which is free of charge.
Finally, Blue Lake Casino, just off the 299 freeway, offers two deals at its 777 Casino Way gas station. Members get 25 cents off per gallon if they pay in cash. Alternatively, 500 points can be redeemed for 10% off gas.

According to GasBuddy, the surge in fuel costs is reaching unprecedented levels. Analysts say this marks the largest one-month spike on record, highlighting how quickly prices are rising and the mounting strain on drivers.
Some of the highest prices in California are being reported at a Chevron station in Los Angeles’ Chinatown, where gas has surpassed $8.70 per gallon. Other notoriously expensive locations include remote stops along Route 66 and near Death Valley.
As of March 31, diesel reached a statewide average of $7.45 — the highest ever recorded — while regular gasoline is nearing $6 at $5.88, according to the American Automobile Association.
In Los Angeles County, that average passed the $6 mark Tuesday, exceeding both the state and national averages, with the U.S. average just above $4.
