A hotheaded Fresno woman threw scorching coffee on a barista after the cafe worker got her order wrong.
The customer had placed an order at Dutch Bros Coffee shop at Clinton and Cedar Avenue on Oct. 14.
A verbal altercation began when she went to the shop window to pick up her cup of caffeine but realized it wasn’t what she had ordered, authorities said.
The store’s surveillance camera caught the ordeal on video where the woman can be seen arguing with the employee.
Authorities said Wednesday that an employee tried to help fix the issue with her coffee, but “the customer got more upset and threw the hot cup of coffee onto the employee.”
The suspect then got into her light-gray SUV, possibly a Hyundai Ioniq that had temporary paper license plate on its front bumper, and left the scene.
Fresno County Sheriff’s Office described her as a black woman in her 30s, between 5’6”–5’8” and a medium build.
Officials said that she was wearing a white T-shirt, gray sweatpants, blue sneakers at the time of the incident and her hair was pulled back into a ponytail.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact Detective Chad Clark at (559) 513-4366 or chad.clark@fresnosheriff.org. Tips can also be sent to Valley Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-7867 or www.valleycrimestoppers.org.
