Bust of Queen Victoria defaced and sprayed with obscenity in shocking protest

Two people have been arrested after a campaign group staged a protest at a popular museum in Scotland.

Posting on social media platform X, the group This Is Rigged, shared footage showing two women defacing a Queen Victoria bust by spray painting “c***” on to the structure.

The pair also poured porridge and a jar of jam over the marble bust at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow on Sunday morning.

Police were called at around 11.55am after being alerted by members of the public who watched in shock as the sculpture was vandalised.

Turning to the camera after spray painting the obscenity on the bust, the protester said “food is a human right”, as they campaigned against the cost of living crisis.
