Brooklyn Beckham remained noticeably quiet after the revelation that his father David was set to receive a knighthood. The 26-year-old, David and Victoria’s eldest son, finds himself embroiled in a continuing family row alongside his wife, Nicola Peltz. Insiders have claimed that Brooklyn and Nicola severed communication with his parents. The split, which intensified after the pair failed to attend David’s 50th birthday party in May, seems to have played a part in Brooklyn’s lack of response to his father’s latest accolade.

David, who formally received his knighthood on Tuesday at a Windsor Castle investiture, was included in the King’s Birthday Honours List in June. Whilst the remaining Beckham clan openly celebrated the news, Brooklyn remained silent. The budding chef instead shared an Instagram story advertising pretzel pita chips moments after it emerged his father was being granted a Sir title by His Majesty, King Charles III – a decision that baffled numerous followers.

The Mirror claim that David failed to inform Brooklyn about his honour, with the younger Beckham discovering the news via media reports.

Despite remaining publicly mute, one insider insisted Brooklyn felt “thrilled” for his dad but continues to favour “no contact” with his relatives at present. The domestic discord stems from Brooklyn and Nicola’s extravagant 2022 wedding ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida.

Tensions reportedly flared when Nicola showed interest in wearing a wedding gown created by Victoria Beckham, but owing to scheduling clashes at Victoria’s atelier, it couldn’t be made. Nicola opted for a bespoke Valentino dress instead, allegedly leaving Victoria feeling pushed aside and triggering friction.

Nicola subsequently dismissed any feud in interviews, describing the dress situation as exaggerated. The divide has manifested through social media snubs, missed events such as Victoria’s fashion presentations, and holiday no-shows.

By 2025, matters intensified, with the pair absent from David’s birthday celebrations, prompting speculation of a more serious rupture. Brooklyn was said to have felt caught between his spouse and parents, with Nicola reportedly advocating separation from the family.

David’s knighthood introduces further complexity to the saga. The football legend has long desired the “Sir” title for his sporting achievements, UNICEF contributions and charitable endeavours.

His aspirations stumbled in 2017 following leaked emails purportedly revealing his anger at being passed over, branding the honours committee “unappreciative c***s” and ridiculing others’ accolades, which postponed his prospects.

Nevertheless, Beckham will now finally be recognised as Sir David, whilst his wife Victoria will be addressed as Lady Beckham.
