The British Museum has been evacuated after activists blocked the entryway.
A group of pro-Palestine and climate change protestors targeted the historic building at 2.15pm today.
The museum was forced to evacuate all patrons from the premises and shut its entrances. Reportedly, it hopes to reopen later this afternoon.
Hundreds of protestors gathered at the British Museum’s entrance and held up a banner that read: “Sponsored by BP = sponsored by colonial genocide”
There were also Palestine flags on display as the demonstrators chanted, ‘shut down BP’ and ‘if you partner wit BP, we’ll shut you down’.
