A Welsh dad has been found dead in his boat after a horror shark attack four weeks into a 3,000-mile charity challenge across the Atlantic. Michael Holt was tragically discovered dead in his cabin 700 miles into the adventure.
The 54-year-old had set off on January 27 on a journey expecting to take 110 days, and he had been regularly posting updates on his journey, and had went through difficulties such as losing an oar, and a shark attacking his boat’s rudder.
Michael, a type 1 diabetic, was nearly one third of the way through his journey from Gran Canaria to Barbados. His devastated family revealed that they had lost contact with him two days after the scary incident.
