Holidaying is a joy for many, often leading to cherished memories.
You never know what you might see when travelling to a new country, particularly when staying in a hotel bustling with other guests. A mum and wife named Sheralee had a first-hand experience of this during her family holiday to Majorca.
The holidaymaker revealed that she had “never seen anything so funny in my life.” Sheralee posted a video on TikTok, repeatedly urging viewers to “please look” at the spectacle unfolding before her, likely filmed from her hotel room.
The Brit captured a “sunbed war” in progress, and you might expect, this isn’t the first or only tale of sunbed wars reported during the summer season. Sheralee found the situation hilariously absurd, and at the start of the video, she exclaimed: “Girls, watch this. I’ve never seen anything like it in my whole life. Watch how they all run for the sun loungers, please watch.”
She managed to film a lengthy queue of guests by the pool, all eager to secure a sunbed at 10am. As soon as the gate was opened, the holidaymakers were seen sprinting towards the sunbeds arranged around the main and children’s pools.
The tourist labelled the scene as “scandalous”, sharing that she has “never known anything like it in my whole life.” The one-minute clip revealed just how rapidly the sunbeds were snapped up and the frantic scramble to secure one to relax by the pool, as countless holidaymakers at beach resorts typically do.
More than 2,300 TikTok users have liked the post and it has gathered 549 comments so far. One user remarked: “Shocking, [I] would rather sit on the floor.”
Another declared: “May this kind of vacation never find me.” A third noted: “That’s hilarious. I don’t stay around the pool long enough to need a lounger, holidays are for exploring, not lying round the pool all day.”
However, others saw the funny side of the situation. A different user piped up: “Ready steady go!!…Should be an Olympic event.”
A second pointed out: “The wee girl flew across there like Usain Bolt.” A third viewer added: “Some people don’t get this is actually part of the holiday fun.”
Responding to another comment, Sheralee said that it was a “mad rush” for the initial couple of minutes before settling down.
She observed that it was “not as bad” as her holiday went on and branded the hotel as “fab.” Offering a potential remedy to sunbed battles, another user maintained: “Sunrise Oasis Water Park in Protaras allocates two beds per room and bean bag beds for kids. Absolute game changer!”
