A frantic search is in progress for a missing Brit who disappeared in Naples, Italy. Robert John Cadger flew to Italy on Saturday, March 8 for a four-day football-themed holiday.

The 47-year-old attended the Napoli v Fiorentina match with two friends before venturing alone to Pompeii on Monday, March 10. He was scheduled to return to Scotland the next day but failed to show up for his flight.

The last known sighting of Robert, also known as Bob, was in Pompeii. Since then, the Sterling native has not been seen or heard from.

His family, now fearing the worst, revealed that the Aberdeen FC fan vanished without his bank card. Robert’s phone has also been switched off since Tuesday.

His brother, Euan, told the Record: “Bob went on holiday to Italy and was due home on Tuesday. He has not returned home and nobody has heard from him since Monday. We are obviously very worried.

“On the first day, he lost his suitcase and had just 600 euros. He has left his bank card at his accommodation and his phone has been off since Tuesday.

“There has also been no movement on his account. If anyone has any sightings of Bob please contact the police or my family on 7718 484719.”

Robert is described as 5ft 9in with a shaved head. He also has a barcode tattoo on the back of his neck. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a yellow Aberdeen Football Club tracksuit top.

A representative for the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office stated: “We are supporting the family of a British man missing in Italy and are in contact with the local authorities.”
