A boy has been left seriously hurt in a glass bottle attack in Manchester last night.
The horrific incident happened on Woodend Road, Wythenshawe at around 7.15pm on Tuesday (October 8). Police said officers raced to the scene following reports of ‘an assault with a glass bottle’.
Paramedics also responded. The boy, whose age has not been revealed at this stage, was rushed to hospital, reports the Manchester Evening News.
His injuries are ‘serious and potentially life-threatening’, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
It has not yet been confirmed whether any arrests have been made.
Last night, pictures showed a cordon in place on Woodend Road as emergency crews responded.
In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: “On 07 October, just after 7:15pm officers responded to reports of an assault with a glass bottle on Woodend Road, Wythenshawe.
“A boy has been taken to hospital where he is receiving treatment for serious and potentially life-threatening injuries. Enquiries are ongoing.”
