Boss shreds employee’s phone after he breaks one simple rule | UK | News

In a shocking turn of events, a boss took drastic measures to enforce his company’s no-phone policy by destroying an employee’s phone. Josh Turner, a 36 year old trainee plasterer, was caught off guard when his boss, David Morgan, a 42 year old property developer from Neath, seized his phone and fed it to a shredder.

The incident occurred on April 11 when Josh answered a call from his wife, forgetting the strict phone ban in place. Josh recounted: “I’m on the phone with my missus – forgot about the phone rule in work. Next thing David has grabbed my phone, walked to the shredder, and just put the phone in.”

Initially, Josh doubted his boss would follow through, but another worker, Ashley, used a stick to help push the phone into the shredder. However, in an unexpected turn of events, David offered to provide Josh with a replacement phone. Josh reflected on the incident: “Of course I wasn’t amused at first but when David said: ‘I will give you a second-hand replacement phone’ that didn’t seem that bad.”

The incident, which was captured on video, has become a local sensation. Josh has taken the episode as a lesson, stating: “It made a fantastic video that has made me famous locally. I have not used my phone in work since and understand the phone rules.”, reports Wales Online.

This dramatic incident has highlighted the importance of adhering to workplace policies, even if it means drastic measures are taken. Despite the initial shock, Josh has taken the situation in stride, and the incident has become a cautionary tale about the consequences of breaching company rules.

The video of the incident has gained significant attention, with many viewers expressing surprise at the extreme measures taken by the boss. Josh’s experience serves as a reminder to always follow workplace rules, as the consequences can be severe.

The incident has sparked a lively debate about the limits of employer discipline and the importance of respecting workplace policies. Josh’s account highlights the importance of responsible phone use during work hours. While the incident was extreme, it has led to a positive outcome for Josh, who has since become more mindful of his phone use during work hours.
