Borderlands 4 fans are counting down to the long-awaited launch of the latest looter shooter from developer Gearbox Software.
Borderlands 4 has a September 12 release date, although PC users will be able to start playing on September 11. Indeed, Borderlands 4 will be available at midnight local time on PS5 and Xbox. PC users in the UK, on the other hand, can start playing at 5pm BST on September 11.
As a reminder, the Nintendo Switch 2 version will be available on October 3.
Multiple versions of the game are available, including a standard edition containing the Gilded Glory pack.
The Deluxe Edition contains the Gilded Glory pack, alongside the Firehawk’s Fury Weapon Skin and the Bounty Pack Bundle.
Finally, the Super Deluxe Edition contains the aforementioned rewards, as well as the Ornate Order Pack and Vault Hunter Pack. The Vault Hunter Pack is essentially the season pass, which contains two post-launch story expansions.
The good news is that if you’ve already pre-ordered the game you can download Borderlands 4 ahead of launch. This means you can start playing the moments servers go live.
The Borderlands 4 pre-load only weighs in at around 28GB on consoles, which means it shouldn’t take too long to download. It’s possible that a day-one patch will increase the file size, so stay tuned for more details.
While the file size is relatively small, the PC specifications are pretty hefty, especially the recommended specs.
As you can see below, Gearbox recommends an Intel Core i7-12700 or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X processor, and 32GB of RAM.
