The Los Angeles courthouse where singer D4vd is set to be arraigned Monday afternoon was hit with a bomb threat, forcing authorities to evacuate the building.

The building’s courtyard was then evacuated, and units from the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles Fire Department were called to the scene. LAPD’s bomb squad also responded, and an officer with a bomb sniffing dog was also brought in to check the building’s safety.

D4vd, real name David Burke, is scheduled to be arraigned for the murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas in the courthouse Monday afternoon.

The singer was charged with first-degree murder with special circumstances in a press conference from Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman.

The special circumstances included lying in wait, murder for financial gain and murdering a witness to an investigation. Prosecutors say Burke invited Rivas to his home in April 2025 and she was never seen again — Rivas’ dismembered body was found in the trunk of Burke’s Tesla in September.

Burke is accused of having a sexual relationship with Rivas from at least September 2023 to September 2024, according to charging documents.

He was also charged with lewd and lascivious sexual acts with an individual under 14 years old, and mutilating the human remains of a body.

Prosecutors say the singer was motivated to protect his music career over fears the relationship with Rivas would be made public.
