Three people have been found dead in the seaside town of Blackpool, triggering an investigation by police, who believe the deaths are linked to drug usage. Two men and one woman were discovered after apparently taking narcotics, and an urgent warning has been issued to local drug users.
A 31-year-old man from the town has been arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply of a Class A drug but has since been released on bail pending further inquiries. Detective Inspector Isobel Garratt from Blackpool Police said: “An investigation is underway following the deaths of two men and one woman in Blackpool. These deaths are suspected to be drugs related.
Det Inspector Garratt added, “Our advice would be for users to seek immediate medical attention if they notice any different symptoms or start to feel unwell.
“There is no safe way of taking drugs, and no way of knowing exactly what you are putting into your body and whether it is safe.”
Lancashire Constabulary has urged anyone with information about drug-related activity to contact 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
